I am currently using the Henge Docks Clique Magic Keyboard + Magic Trackpad tray and love it

However, I have just ordered the MP 7,1 which comes with the extended Magic Keyboard w/Numeric keypad

Are there any trays like the Clique that will accommodate the Magic Keyboard w/Numeric keypad + the Magic Trackpad?

I like having them incorporated into one tray like I have now

Thank you and be well

I've been looking for this, as well. Henge Docks was recently acquired by Brydge Technologies and they don't even list the Clique product on the Brydge website that I can find.

I've been using the TwelveSouth Magic Bridge (similar product as the Clique)... but it's only available for the older Magic Keyboard (without the 10-key keypad).

I'd love to find one for the Magic Trackpad and the Magic Keyboard w keypad in space grey.

I just emailed Twelve South asking if they had a version for the expanded keyboard

My desk is made of aircraft aluminum so it has rivets in it so it is not perfectly flat - the Clique really helped

Huh. I just emailed them, as well. Maybe they will see 2 emails as a "public outcry" and get on the stick. :D

... and, sadly, I got the same quick but sad reply from Bridget.

I just found this - looks promising:

I had one early on from someplace called iSkelter... they no longer appear to be making the keyboard/trackpad trays... the one I had was wooden (like what you found), not sloped like that... and it was just too big and too bulky to be of any use to me. I might still have it around here somewhere... or it could have become kindling for the fireplace. :D

Yeah one drawback to the one I linked to is there are no openings in the back for the lightning cable - would have to remove the keyboard and trackpad to charge them

I ended up ordering the maple version of the tray from Woody's Shop
Let's see if it actually arrives from Germany LOL

I am genuinely interested in how this turns out... and I wonder if they will modify the design to accommodate the lighting cable to charge the devices in the tray... wondering, too, about a "user mod" to accomplish the same thing... it would be a simple mod, and the hardest part would be matching the stain/finish on the newly exposed wood.

Please let me hear how this turns out!

I will see if I can drill a small hole in the wood to allow the lightning port to be exposed

Good link - It's a shame they don't seem to make on that's "laptop style" with the trackpad centered in front of the keyboard.

I think that would be difficult to use. Given that the profile of the trackpad is identical to that of the keyboard, placing the trackpad centered in front of the keyboard (between the user and the keyboard) would create a "sawtooth" situation where the lower rows of keyboard might be hard to access... and it would cause the entire tray to be unnecessarily thicker (and therefore, raised from the desktop)... ergonomic nightmares.

Laptop keyboards/trackpads don't have that issue because they are either flat (compared the the desktop on which it sits), or they both are designed to fit into a single sloped surface.

I emailed the manufacturer about access to the charging ports and got this response... looking better all the time!

Code:
Thanks for your message and the interest in our product. Actually, the holes for the lightning cables are already included. We modified the design after to the photo shooting, so the feature is not visible. But I will add it to the text.
We are looking forward to your order.

Best
Felix

Felix just emailed me too confirming my order
Glad to know the lightning holes are already there
WOOHOO!!!

If I put my Mac Pro under my desk, will the bluetooth be able to pass through the desk for the keyboard and trackpad or do I need to put the tower top of my desk?

You should be good... BT has a range of up to 100 meters ... going through walls and desktops could affect that range, but we're talking 5 feet max, so I would imagine that you will be good.

I am anxious to hear how it works... was really encouraged by Felix' response that he had made an accommodation for the charging cables.

The tray just arrived
It is sturdy and well made

However, the holes drilled for the lightning cable are merely small circles and not big enough to pass a cable through

I will have to either drill them out or just leave as is and remove the tray and keyboard to charge

Bummer... be sure to communicate that back to Felix... Photos please, when you can.

Here are the photos (the new Magic Keyboard w/numeric keypad and new trackpad will not arrive until my MP does, probably next week as it has not even shipped yet):

I did put the Magic Keyboard (w/o numeric keypad) in the slot and it seems there is some give which causes some keys to require a harder press or even a double-tap to register (especially the spacebar) but, that might be a function of the empty space

So I wrote to Woody's and Felix informed me that the holes drilled for the lightning cable will only accommodate an original Apple cable --so, I sent him this video

He was shocked, told me he would get to the bottom of it and offered to send me a new one

Link to video as the forum would not allow me to embed:

Not cool... but at least he's willing to investigate and make it right.

He jsut emailed me with a video showing how the lightning cable fits on a tray in his shop, telling me, once again, that only an original Apple lightning cable will fit. I reminded him that I was using a brand new Apple cable.
He then asked to measure the holes, stating they should be 8mm and that when they originally started making the trays, the holes were too small but it is unlikely that they sent me old stock. I measured the holes and they were 6mm.

He said they would find a solution for me. Let's see what happens.
