Hi, all!

I'm having a big problem with my Magic Mouse 2 that I'm using with my iMac 2020 27" with Sonoma. In the log in screen, the Magic Mouse is working well (the same if I use it with a Windows PC), but after the log in screen the cursor is frozen at the left corner and it doesn't move or click. At this point, I tried a lot of different types of resets and connect/disconnect options, but with no-success. The strange thing is that my Magic Keyboard keeps working fine, so I don't think it's a Bluetooth connection problem.

Does anyone have any idea about it?

Thanks!

I have had the same issue since the last update. My mouse keeps disconnecting and lagging. Tried the same steps as you. Several types of batteries with no luck

I just found https://osxdaily.com/2023/12/13/fix-mouse-click-issues-in-macos-sonoma/ Step 7 worked for me. See below
  1. From the MacOS Finder, pull down the “Go” menu and choose “Go To Folder”
  2. Enter the following path exactly, then click on “Go”
  3. ~/Library/Preferences/
  4. Use the Search box in the upper right corner of the Finder window and search “mouse” and “trackpad” (two separate searches), and move the following files to your Desktop:
  5. com.apple.driver.AppleBluetoothMultitouch.trackpad.plist
    com.apple.AppleBluetoothMultitouch.mouse.plist
    com.apple.AppleMultitouchMouse.plist
    com.apple.driver.AppleBluetoothMultitouch.mouse.plist
    com.apple.driver.AppleHIDMouse.plist
    com.apple.AppleMultitouchTrackpad.plist
    com.apple.preference.trackpad.plist
    com.apple.driver.AppleBluetoothMultitouch.trackpad.plist
    • Restart the Mac by going to the  Apple menu and choosing “Restart”
    • Now go to  > System Settings > Mouse / Trackpad and reconfigure your mouse/trackpad as you like
