Dear MacRumors experts :)

I bought a Magic Mouse 3 with the black top plate to accompany my 16“ MBP M1 Max. After unboxing and using it for a while I noticed that the top plate was slightly moving. After hours of use it started to annoy me so I went back to the store and exchanged it. Same issue with the new mouse. I went back to the store and checked out alle the MM3s they had on display. They all had a „wiggling“ top plate. The lady at the store told me it was a normal behavior for the Magic Mouse 3.

My white Magic Mouse 2 is rock solid after years of use…

How are your black and silver Magic Mouse 3s holding up? Are the top plates slightly moving or did I have bad luck?!

I have a black one that I got a couple of weeks ago. It's solid right now. Hopefully it won't start wiggling soon.

I got the same problem. Mine is 2nd gen white one, and there is a loose gap in between the top part and the botton inside. It makes me pretty annoyed. Everytime I try to do a gesture by touching the surface, it makes a kind of clicking sound and does not feel "tight".

I have no idea what to do except selling this mouse. I have always been happy with the 1st gen, as it was pretty tight and heavier device.

MM2, does the same thing too. It doesn’t bother me personally, it’s not affecting control or gestures for me. but I could see it being annoying if it did interfere with gesturing.
