Magic Mouse disconnects

I recently updated the software on my iMac (yesterday), and today my magic mouse won't stay connected. This is the first time I've had this issue in the one year since I got my imac. I find that the mouse's green light just starts flashing. The batteries are about 63% charged, and a restart seems to fix the issue, for a bit. When I paired my other magic mouse (the one I use for mbp) that too had the same issue. My bluetooth keyboard seems fine, just not the mouse.
