I've had this Magic Mouse for ten years I believe and it has worked so far. But since I bought a new Mac (2023 mini) it would start lagging sometimes. I would need to turn it off and on then and it would work normally again.

It's weird, though. It's a mouse from the early 2010s I believe, it's that first model, that has batteries and no cable yet.

Has anyone else had that? I'm on the latest version of Ventura.

I refuse to use an Apple Magic Mouse due to its outdated and unsatisfactory performance. The design of the mouse has remained unchanged, and it doesn't make any sense to have the charging access located under it. I hate to say this but Microsort have some amazing mice. Although they are not made of aluminium, they are still highly effective.

I agree. Apple's magic mouse can be a right pain in the arse. For years I used a £10 cheapo Logitek USB mouse. That's what I went back to on my iMac, and guess what! It works like a dream. No side swiping errors, accidental screen zoom etc. I just stick a decent AAA battery in every two years and I'm done!

I had a Magic Mouse that I used with my iPad. Unfortunately it did the same lagging like crazy. Happened right after a software update a few back.

I ended up buying the Logitech M650. It can be used with or without the USB dongle. It feels really good in the hand and has silent clicks which I prefer. Also, no lagging and super smooth movement with my iPad.
