As part of a summer project, I'm helping a school setup up a mac lab. The lab is open to all students (K-12), and at times will be UN-supervised. They previously had laptops in the lab, and some of the kids pried off the keys and started chewing on them. I'm now running those laptops hidden underneath the desks in mirror mode with only an external monitor, USB keyboard and mouse showing.

The school will be adding 20" iMacs to the lab. To make these new machines abusive resistant, I recommended replacing the wireless keyboards with USB keyboards, along with spares. From a budget point of view, its cheaper to replace a $15 USB keyboard than a $70 wireless keyboard.

For supervised lessons, teachers can break out the wireless keyboards and mice. We'll keep the wireless keyboard and mice stored in a locker, when not being used.

I'm having a hard time finding a USB replacement for the Magic Mouse, which has multi-touch functionality. Any suggestions?
