I have an M1 Max MBP and Magic Mouse (newest gen with lightning port) and this issue has been driving me crazy.
The Magic Mouse will sometimes just have a mind of its own and become sluggish or only move vertically but very little compared to what it should be doing.
I’ve tried cleaning it, changing mouse pads, re-pairing it, replacing it (yes, the same result with multiple Magic Mouses) and the same result happens. I also go for long stretches of a couple weeks and it behaves normally.
When it malfunctions the one thing that seems to get it to work properly again is smacking it down (not super hard) on the mouse pad a few times. That can help for an hour or 1 second, there seems to be no rhyme or reason why.
I read elsewhere on the forum that the M1 Macs have some Bluetooth issues and was wondering if my issue is not the mouse but the Mac. I’m running the current version of Monterey if that helps solve the puzzle.
Any help or advice is greatly appreciated, or if you’re suffering from the same thing and just want to vent, that’s just fine too…
