I recently purchased a magic mouse for my macbook pro. I have to move the mouse about twice as far(than my microsoft mouse) to move the cursor the length of my monitor. I adjusted the tracking and scrolling, faster, slower etc and it doesn't help the distance I have to move the mouse. Is this normal or do I have a defective magic mouse. I run out of room on my mousepad.

It's most likely your bluetooth reception. The internal antenna on the Mac Pro is junk. Search this forum for "Bluetooth reception" and you will see a number of threads. I went as far as replacing the Bluetooth antenna with one which runs external to the case...

MagicPrefs?

I'm not completely sure why that is but try MagicPrefs: http://magicprefs.com/
since it can increase the tracking speed even more. If that doesn't really help and it's really bothering you, go ask a guy at the apple store. Good Luck!
