So my HDD is actually full it would seem even though the finder tells me I have 7.5 GB of space free?

My mac was behaving very strangely, and now I know why. I have no system space left at all. I have repaired disk permissions, but it didn't help. What is going on? Why would it read incorrectly? Is there any way I can get back the correct reading?

I know that the disk is really full because if I try to copy a largish file over it tells me that the disk is full even though I supposedly have over 7 GB free..

I have temporarily deleted some files to get some more space back. I recently got my mac back from the genius bar where it had the logicboard replaced. I seem to remember that I had some magical "extraspace" after it came back. Not sure why or how though. What could they have done?

I have a 2007 Macbook Pro running 10.5.8

Any help of hints greatly appreciated.
