I'm going to be buying a Mac Studio in the next month or so and will replace my Magic Keyboard with keypad with the new one that has TouchID.

I bought a Magic Trackpad 2 (A1535) when it was first released back in 2016 to replace my old Magic Trackpad.

Is the current trackpad that's being sold the same as the one I've already got or has the design changed since then?

Thanks.

If you have the ones that have the lightning port then they are the same exact. The white/silver version may just feel cheaper than the older version. But everything else is the same.

Thanks.

Aye, it's the one with the lightning port, this is the 'new' one on the left compared to the old one.

Can't believe it's been over five years since I bought it!

Somehow, I still have two or three of the original ones kicking around, not sure how that happened.

Thanks.

The metal one doesn't have force touch, right?

There has been a revision since the introduction of the original lightning version, slightly altered edges to fit the design language of the newest keyboard generation [touch id].

As shown: New Trackpad with old keyboard
