Magic Trackpad 2 not as responsive as MacBook Trackpad?

I use a MBP 16.2 and the space gray Trackpad 2. I find that the MacBook trackpad is very responsive but the wireless one has these intermittent misses when 2 finger touch/scroll. these subtle hiccups. is this due to it being wireless and is this normal?

That doesn't sound normal, I haven't had any issues with mine. You could try using the Trackpad wired to your Mac (and turn off Bluetooth) to see if it works any better. That will help determine if it's a wireless issue, or something else.
