I have an MTP that I swap between my MBP and my Mini, depending on which computer I want to use.. The Mini is on all the time but this worked fine with Mavericks. Once I upgraded to Yosemite (did it on both within 48 hours) the MTP won't connect to the MBP. It connects just fine to the Mini, even from 20 feet away.

I have tried re-pairing the MTP but once I delete the MTP from my BT device list the MBP won't even see it. My phone (Moto X) will also not connect to send a picture across BT. I reset the PRAM and it worked, then I re-enabled TRIM and rebooted (or maybe it was sleeping the computer overnight) and now I can't re-connect a BT device.

Funny enough, while the MBP won't "see" the MTP or my phone won't connect to BT on the MBP, the MBP can see the Mini's BT and attempt to pair to it.
