Just received my new M4 iMac. At the time of order you couldn’t select both the trackpad and mouse as you could on all previous versions. Apple doesn’t sell color matching accessories.

Several of us received info from Apple saying we would have to contact support after we received the computer and they could get us one. I have tried this several times and keep being denied. Has anyone had any luck yet doing this and if you did how or who did you contact? I have been through sales, support, MAC support, post-purchase support and many supervisors.

If you ask the support technician to look up article CP403439 it will point them in the right direction.
Do you have a copy of this article I can read? Sales, support, post-sales support and Apple Care support all have no idea what to do and say it can’t be done even when I provide them with that article number.

I'm sorry, I don't have access to it. However, I am told this article contains guidance on the issue.

Do you have an Apple Store nearby. You might try going there and give them the article number. My understanding is the article explains exactly how to accomplish what you are after here.

I just noticed this because I was looking at the M4 iMac. You used to be able to buy both. Were you able to get support to help you?

When I bought an M1 iMac, I picked the mouse instead of both and regretted it. I contacted Apple support and they told me the only way I could get a color matching trackpad was to buy another iMac. They were 100% not budging at all because I insisted and asked if they could escalate it and they told me no, absolutely not. Maybe their policy has changed since then.

You might have to buy two iMacs if you want both the mouse and the trackpad. You could just get a second base model iMac and sell it without the trackpad for a little loss.

No, if you buy online you have 14 days to withdraw, and they have to pay the returned iMac.

They'll charge you for the missing device, but they can't charge you for the entire Mac you returned.

On the other hand, if that genius Cook has decided not to make available a product that they have in the catalog then he can't complain if someone does him the favor.

This is a pretty clever way to get both a trackpad and mouse. I wonder if there are any possible negative consequences to doing this though?

This behavior by Apple is annoying, and sadly typical of the way that they treat their customers at times! I can understand not having mice and trackpads in all the colors in stores, but what would it hurt to make them available online?

I was planning to buy an iMac soon, but after reading this I am just going to get by with what I have. Screw Timmy!
