I bounce back and forth between the smart keyboard and a hard shell case for work. I have been patiently waiting for a simple hard shell case with no front cover that uses the magnets on the back to hold the case on. Anyone heard of such a thing?

Perfect case for me would be the CoverBuddy that covered all sides and didn’t include the obnoxious apple Pencil cutout. I’d rather it just be left open enough to attach a pencil.

I know this won't answer your question, but Brydge comes with a magnetic backing that I use whenever I take my iPad off my MK. But I would be game if a manufacturer had a hard shell too with magnets. The magnets on the Brydge actually saved my iPad twice from hitting the ground.

Any suggestion on simple case where I can keep the pencil attached. I carry my ipad around and use it to take notes and browse, etc.

I love this ESR Rebound Magnetic Smart Case. Similiar to Apple Smart Folio except it has flap for pencil and only costs $26 on Amazon. Don’t know how long it will last but for the price I’m happy so far. I have IPP 11” 2020

These are my current favorite cases. Holds the pencil in a recessed enclosure but still easy to access.
