Has anyone used magnetic USB C cables for charging? It puts a small piece in the port opening of the device and then the cable magnetically attaches akin to MagSafe. I was curious if anyone had good luck with these types of cables and any caveats.
Yep, I've got this in my Samsung phone with USB c socket. They're so handy, and save wear and tear on the socket.
Note that the magnetic ends vary slightly AND incompatibly between sellers, so buy 2 or 3 at the same time if you intend to use in multiple places ( at home, in the car, at the office.)
I'd trust this for charging my phone, but not for data transfer. If you're thinking of using this for your MacBook, chances are the magnetic systems aren't up to powering it.

For me it was to gain the ease at home (wall charger + 2 mag cables to iPad and to Samsung S10+), a mag cable for the car (have to investigate adapters) and then I have a good batter pack charger which was my original concern. I get to add to this now that the iPad Magic Keyboard's usb power input is very picky on what can connect.
