Hello everyone,

I know this is the topic since the day rMB came out. People has been talking about the case of lightning charger for iPhone / iPad being fine, but now I have my MacBook, I found that the USB-C port is a little too tight for the charger and it takes a little wiggle to take it out. It concerns me that the port will get worn out pretty soon (or with contact issue).

I now realize the old Magsafe port is so much better for charging.

Interestingly, I found a German website http://www.magnetic-usb.com/ that makes a very good magnetic USB2.0 cable and I am wondering if someone would make a similar model in USB Type-C. This would be a good project on Kickstarter and perhaps add a small LED light as well.

Anyone shares the same thoughts?

I don't understand that product. USB is already easy to disconnect. What problem are they solving?

The C connector is rated for minimum 10K cycles. I bet it's much more robust than MagSafe for wear even though it's missing the safety disconnect. You'll find plenty of people with collapsed or burnt MagSafe pins.
