Magsafe 2 adapter for older laptops?

So, if I get the new Retina MBP (though I was planning to get the new 17", but oh well), I know that there's an adapter to allow you to use the older power adapters with the new Magsafe 2 port, but is there one that will go the other way?

I have a 2011 13" MBA, and would prefer to carry around just one power adapter (in this case it would most likely be the 2012 MBP adapter), but will that work with the 2011 MBA??
