Magsafe 2 charging

No problems at all with my RMBP apart from the charger

When I connect the magsafe to the computer sometimes the light (whether orange or green) does not come on and the status bar shows as running on battery.

If I turn the magsafe connector up the other way and reconnect the light will often then come on! But sometimes it doesn't and I have to disconnect and reconnect a few times before the light appears and it's on mains power.

Even when I have a light showing, if I turn the connector up the other way the light disappears. Turn it back over and the light comes on!

Anyone else having this issue? Faulty charger?

My charger works fine either way. Since you are in London, why don't you take the laptop and charger to an Apple store and show them the problem. They likely give you a new charger if you current one is faulty.

Do you have a "skin" on your laptop?

My Kuzy case skin interferes with the Magsafe 1 to Magsafe 2 adapter, but it's not a problem with the Magsafe 2 power supply.

No skin. Looks like it's a trip to Apple Store.
