Go into the Apple Store and look at the new MB Airs (11 and 13) with the MagSafe 2 plugged in. Those that have been plugged in all the time (which is pretty much all of them) have burn marks on the top of the MagSafe tip. Is this what happens with the new MagSafe when you leave it plugged in?

It's like the voltage is heating up too much and making marks on the silver. I've seen this at multiple stores on virtually all machines.

Is this an issue for anyone that's actually bought one?

Hopefully now one uses their computer like the one in the store and doesn't have this problem.

I noticed that too.. I'm fairly certain they aren't burn marks... It's the coating/anodization rubbing off of the aluminum casing, caused by customers picking up the computer. Since it's tethered by the security alarm, when the magsafe pops off, it rubs against the case and wears down the coating. Shouldn't be an issue for a normal user who isn't picking up his computer 100 times per day.

macs in the AS run 24/7 without any problem, they don't turn if off at night, and during the day, people are using them continuously

What he said. Same thing happens with the 2011 models too.

Well it might be that the coating is not that good. After three days, I noticed such marks on my new Air....
