I got frayed wire on my magsafe power adapter for my late 2008 MBP. Such a stupid design from a company known for great designs. I don't mind paying $80 bucks for a new one but if I can find a cheaper one that's reliable then I rather safe money. What do you guys recommend ? Thank you.

Tried bringing it to the Apple Store and getting a replacement? Sometimes Apple does that, though your Mac is out of warranty. It is worth a try.

As for getting a cheaper one, there is only the used market or cheap knockoffs, which I would not recommend buying.

Went to Apple store today and they were closed. Easter holiday, I guess. Good advice, I'll try bringing it to them see if they'll hook me up. Worth a try. What's plan B? Any after market that's reliable and safe.
