MagSafe charger powered from Mac instead of power brick?

Does anyone happen to know if an iPhone 12 can be charged by MagSafe, if the MagSafe charger is plugged into a modern Mac (say to the Thunderbolt port on a Mac Mini), instead of a separate power brick?

I couldn't find an answer reading Apple documents... and web searches are hopeless, as so many older Macs used MagSafe for charging, and new ones USB-C, that you just get thousands of irrelevant search results.

It won’t sadly work from an iPad Pro with USB-C not enough output from the iPad
