Am I reading this right... does this charger not include the power adapter? Kind of a kick in the teeth if true.

What do you think?

No - according to what I see ‘included’ on the apple site. But they reduced the price of the 20W adapter (vs. the previous 18W).

Apple has generally sold cables separate from bricks. The Apple Watch charger does not come with a brick either.

What do you think?
You have two choices. You can buy the charger for $39 or the charger with brick for $58. If Apple included the power adapter in the box with the charger, you'd only have one choice. So why is that you think having two choices instead of one is a kick in the teeth?

I probably just missed the small print somewhere, where it states the brick is sold separately.

Only a kick in the teeth for people with no existing USB-C bricks lying around the home.

It's really confusing. According to Apple, MagSafe charger includes:
  • MagSafe Charger
  • 1m USB-C integrated cable
"Integrated" suggests just 1 item is included, but it's too ambiguous. It should just say "MagSafe Charger to 1m USB-C cable" just like Apple Watch Magnetic Charger to USB-C Cable:
  • Apple Watch Magnetic Charging Cable
