Magsafe charging bug on M1 Macbook Pro?

Anyone else encounter a bug with their magsafe charging? To reproduce:

1. Make sure the magsafe charger is not plugged in
2. Lock the screen of your macbook
3. Close the macbook lid
4. Insert the magsafe charger then open the lid

Notice that the light on the magsafe charger is not turned on.
