Hello,

I decided to buy another power supply for my mac so I can have one at work and one at home, but when I saw the price tag I almost fainted.
I bought an extra power supply for my wife's ultra portable fujitsu for under $20. I don't understand why an apple power supply needs to be $80. It's a ridiculous ripoff.

Are there any 3rd party alternatives? Maybe a converter so I can hook a regular ($20) power supply to the MB?

Thanks,
-kamo

You can find 3rd party adapters on eBay for half the price of Apple's adapters. That's the only place I know of to get a significant price cut.

I think you have to buy the official Apple one, because Apple have yet to licence the MagSafe design to 3rd parties.
