Hi all,

One quick question: when the last batch of MBA came out there were a lot of complaints about the magnet in the new magsafe adapter being not strong enough, so that it would unplug all the time. Is this still the case the ones being produced now, or has that problem been solved?

Thanks,

Frenetic

I have the 13" and it's definitely a problem. Much weaker than the magsafe on my 2006 Macbook.

It's a little weaker when pushed on from the top or bottom, and a bit stronger when pushed from the sides. It pops out more for me than my old machine, but not enough to be annoying.

I just bought one from Amazon on black Friday. It came with Mountain Lion pre-installed, and my magsafe is sooooo easy to come unplugged. I really don't like it compared to my 2008 MacBook Pro. If I move my Air and slightly lift on the cable it falls off! Probably my only complaint with the Air. Other, than that, I love it!!!!

My 2006 MBP had a much looser feeling Magsafe than my 2012 Air.

The Magsafe 2 seems much more solidly plugged in to me, especially when pushed side to side.
