Hey all,

I know I am late to this discussion but wanted some up-to-date input from you fine people.

I just got a 13PM, and was considering MagSafe and a stand for charging at night on my nightstand. I have 15 watt (I think) old school qi chargers for daytime charging at work.

I have heard, especially last year, that the MagSafe can get pretty warm and cause marks on the backs of leather cases, and even silicone.

I have a silicone MagSafe case, apple brand, for the 13PM.

Is this heating still an issue in your uses, and are the marks on the backs of cases still an issue?

Should I stick with the charging stands I already have, which work just fine, and just skip MagSafe? They're $10 off on Amazon at the moment.

Thanks!

I have a black apple leather case and use the MagSafe charger daily. I don't see any mark. I like MagSafe because I stuck it to desk with double sided tape and I just drop the phone on it and the magnet catches it.

You’ll only get “fast” wireless charging from Apple approved accessories (only Belkin).

Besides, fast wireless charging and batteries never bode well together as it generates too much heat and degrades your battery life much faster. Use the standard “slow” wireless chargers instead.
