I have a macbook pro 15" 2.5ghz. I recently had it serviced under warranty due to a faulty LCD. number 9 key was not working so I also had the keyboard replaced. When they replaced the keyboard they also replaced the top case and battery so pretty much the computer looks brand new.
anyway
I hadn't noticed this before the repair but now when I plug in the magsafe charger if the lid is shut off, the light on the magsafe will work properly it will be green when charged and red when charging but as soon as I open the lid, the light on the magsafe will turn off however, if you look at it in the dark you will see it is very faintly green. The charger still works fine (charges and powers computer perfectly) and I haven't fully tested this yet but with my 2009 13" macbook charger, it seems like it works fine with it..as far as I have tested. i'll have to test a little more. any ideas?
on a side note (this just happened) I might also add that light on magsafe was off (fainted green) and battery was fully charged. I unplugged it and plugged it back in and the light was bright green (working properly).
any ideas? could it be a fault charger or faulty computer? Would AC replace the charger?
edit:
just tried the same charger on my 13" macbook and same problem happens. light is very faint however, it is intermittently. without disconnecting the red light will turn on/off
