Magsafe (one way?)

Hi, I just got the 2011 13'' Macbook Pro. I noticed that my magsafe will only work when the wires are going to the back. When i try to use it with the wires facing the front it says "battery not charging". is it normal for magsafe to only work in one direction?

no, mine works either way, that Magsafe must have some bad wiring. Take it back and get another!
 
The magsafe charger is arguably the weakest part of the MBP. It is probably defective, which is very, very common. I am happy to say though that the rest of the system is not built like the charger. Def take it back if you feel it is not operating correctly.

i cant agree with you on that, have you had problems before?

I still use my old MagSafe that came with my 2008 uMB! It works flawlessly!
The MagSafe that i use with my new 2011 works just fine as well.
 
Thanks for the quick responses. I made a genius bar appointment for the magsafe issue + to fix the terrible spacebar squeak.
