magsafe power adapter repair - low voltage cord

I have found the magnetic end on ebay to repair my power cord ( one of the pins doesnt spring out anymore) Does anyone know how to get the power brick apart without wrecking it?

I had the exact same problem, and also bought a new cord on ebay.

I just did the same repair. I just cut off 1/2 of my existing cord and spliced it with the new cord. Then I covered the whole thing with heat shrink tubing.
