so my MBP magsafe adapter has crapped out. the light goes out during use. if i shake the cable, the light comes back on. i tested with a different adapter and it works just fine.

would apple do anything about this even tho i'm out of warranty? it seems like the cable under the coating has gotten loose.

also, just wondering.. when did they start selling the new magsafe adapters (in-store)?

Apple would probably just sell you a new one and cite it as normal wear, which is fairly legitimate. They started selling the new ones in store with the last generation of MBPs.

Yep. I had to buy a replacement charger for my 2008 aluminum macbook a few months ago. Hopefully the design has been improved and it lasts more than a couple years.
