Anyone have experience having older magsafe chargers replaced under a warranty from a different, newer laptop?

Not even sure which charger came with the laptop anymore. Have quite a few.

Please don't bump like this, its against forum rules. No replies means no-one has had anything useful to add.

Its up to you to correlate the magsafe with the laptop concerned for warranty, if you were to claim an old magsafe using the warranty for a new MBP I don't know whether that would be obvious to Apple, the Magsafes have chips determining which works with each so they can tell the charger is the correct technology for the serial or not but beyond that who knows....

Or that it was just not seen by the correct people when it was posted.

Anyway, you a moderator or something? Or just an internet warrior.

while the serial numbers of the magsafes are not 'tied' to an individual machine they do have manufacturing dates and info attached to the serial.

You might find that :apple: won't replace a 3 year old magsafe from a 1 year old computer, all it would take is the EEE code from the magsafe and that will give them an average build date/revision date.
