For those who have older iPhones and are interested in getting the new MagSafe Wireless Charger, some good news to report:

If you are someone who gets all-day battery life with your iPhone X and use your wireless charger to charge overnight while asleep, the MagSafe + 20W Power Adapter combo does the job very nicely.

Though the charge is averaging 2.75 watts and a far cry from the 7.5 one can get from other Qi options, I went to bed at 2AM, woke up at 8AM, and saw that my iPhone X went from 16% to 100% in under 6 hours which is really all that matters to those of us who wirelessly charge overnight.

We’re you concerned it wouldn’t charge? At the end of the day, it is a wireless Qi charger that just works better on the new phones versus the old ones.

Im waiting for a real scientific test in the charging rate though...with various wattage plugs...just out of curiosity.

While the speeds of the MagSafe are half as fast with a non-iPhone 12, in practical use for those who charge overnight it's not an issue. I was concerned I'd wake up in the morning not at 100%.

As for testing with different wattages, my iPhone charges faster with the Apple 20W than it does with my RAVPower 61W.

Good to know.

I guess I just assumed it would charge just as well, if not better than other Qi chargers.
