I have just upgraded from 10.2.8 to 10.4, mostly to get around an overstuffed 'Mail Sent' box, which is now fine.

Unfortunately, I don't now seem to be able to receive messages with attachments, particularly .JPGs and .EPS files - they simply get stuck with a 'Loading message' screen, which ultimately requires me to quit Mail and relaunch it, still without being able to access these messages. Messages without attachments come through ok.

Any thoughts?

There is a lot of discussion on the Apple support forums about Mail either not sending or receiving attachments consistently. My only suggestion is to trash the mail plist file and try again. That may or may not help. Good luck!

One thing I've noticed is that Mail 2.0 takes a while to load images in the viewer window.

Yeah I know that doesn't help you much, just an oberservation:)

Trashing plist

Can you take me through 'trashing the plist'?

Where do I start?

Regards,

Andy

Andy, it's right here:

Andy/Library/Preferences/com.apple.mail.plist

Close your mail program. Put the plist in the trash just in case you want to revert to it. Restart the mail program and here's hoping your program works properly.
