mail 6.5 E-mails disappearing from in box after 8 to 10 days

os x 10.8.4, mail 6.5, 27" I-Mac
after 8 or so days, emails are automatically deleted from my in box.
They do not go to the trash.

This does not happen on my MacBook Pro running Lion 10.7
All emails stay in inbox.

Any Ideas?
