Though not new to Macs, I can't figure out for the life of me why the little red circle with the number of new emails is no longer appearing on my Mail icon on the dock. I still receive email but am never alerted to its presence.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Do you have rules that move new mail to folders other than the Inbox?

No, I don't have any rules currently. That's what's really confusing me. All my email is the same as before. It either goes in my Inbox or my Junk folder. Nothing has changed as far as that goes.

That would bug me to no end. It looks like you have to have Applecare on some of your macs, I'd call Apple to figure it out.
