Mail and Gmail in Snow Leopard

I have two gmail accounts. One connects just fine and the other does not. The one that doesn't connect has been fine for the 2 years since I first got my MBP and has connected just fine on both the MBP and Mac Pro. Now it won't work on either machine. I have tried deleting and adding the account over and over again among any number of other remedies people have recommended with no luck.

This started happening just this week out of nowhere with no system changes.

Any ideas?
