Mail and.... Gmail

Ok, I know there has to be a simple solution for this however I've been searching over the internet for hours now.

I am using a Gmail account along with my mbp and iPhone. Does anybody here know how i can set my mail software (on mbp) to move e-mails to thrash instead of moving them to a label Deleted Messages when i delete mails from Mail.app?
