Mail and Imap

I thought I'd give Mail a try to see what it's like. Anyway I am a little annoyed currently as it seems to be trying to download every single imap folder on the server. On all the other mail clients i have used it grabs your inbox, junk, delete and sent but then leaves the rest for you to choose. There seems to be an awful lot of folders, is there a way to just have those four main folder i.e. only download from the folders i tell it to and not all of them as it's just going to be going non stop downloading with the sheer amount of stuff on the portal.

-just noticed it's also using 300MB of ram, that seem a lot of a mail client?

You might need to set the IMAP path prefix (the name of the mail folder on the server, most often Mail or mail):
