Hello all, and happy 2008.
I have a weird issue that I think began when I upgraded from 1.1.1 -> 1.1.2 (but I'm not entirely sure.) I have a Jailbroken iPod touch and it's set up to check Gmail via IMAP. After I updated to 1.1.2, I installed the matching iPhone apps and support files.
For all intents and purposes, everything is working well and this hacked device is my favorite tech purchase of 2007.
So here's the details of my weird issue:
When I go to open the Mail application, it tries to check the Inbox. But the wheel just spins and spins while "Checking for Mail..." It doesn't actually succeed though. I could leave it sitting there for 20 minutes and it would still be "Checking for Mail."
So what I do is, I click "Mailboxes" at the top, then click on "Sent." I see the spinning wheel, it successfully checks and updates my Sent Mail. Then I click "Mailboxes" and go back to the Inbox... and then it manages to successfully check/update my Inbox.
Any idea what's going on here? Why do I need to "poke" it by having it check Sent Items first? Anyone else experience something similar, and is there any way I could go about troubleshooting/fixing it? FWIW, I typically have less than 80 messages in my Inbox.
