Since my upgrade to Mountain Lion (clean install), Mail.app constantly drives CPU usage up to over 100% for no discernible reason. I´ve got two mail accounts, iCloud and my own IMAP server.
I already tried to delete and re-sync my iCloud contacts as suggested in another thread but it didn´t help.
Anyone know how to fix it? Thanks!

Hi,

I am having the same problem, but only when editing a new mail message and not always.

regards,
antonio

I spoke with Apple regarding a Mac Mail problem, and was told that the Mac Mail specialists have been inundated with Mac Mail glitches since ML. Likely Mac Mail bugs will be addressed in 10.8.1...I hope!:D

So much for the promised upgraded Mail App in ML. I haven't used it in years...Thunderbird continues to be rock solid, offers more features and is free...Sparrow likewise.

I had hoped to see a re-vamped Mail app with ML's release..seems they just made it worse.
