I just got a macbook pro 15, I'm not familiar with the navigation of OS X yet since I've been a windows person my whole life.

How do I change my gmail Mail app's fetch time like I can with my iPhone?

I can't find it anywhere.

Thanks

Mail, preferences, general tab, second option from the top "Check for new messages"

With that said, if you use an Exchange or IMAP server, mail is pushed to the computer rather than pulled from the server, so you should leave this to "automatic" in those cases. If you're still using POP3 then that's another story.

You should not need to. If you have enabled IMAP in Gmail.com settings and used the default OS X Mail account settings for Gmail you should be getting push email in real time.
