Ok, I'll be opening up a message, read it, then I'll hit, "Reply". When I do, it takes about 30secs(timed) to allow me to type in anything. The keyboard is up, but when you type, its not coming up on the screen, until after its done freezing up. Then, when I type the message, and send it, it freezes right there, on the message I typed, and waits for about 1min! Then, it un-freezes, and sends the message successfully.

Its never done this before until recently. I've tried restoring the ipod, reseting it, but to no avail.

What should I do?

If for some reason your email accounts are receiving more mail while you are trying to respond to one, that activity may be what is bogging down your Touch. I don't get much mail usually, but on the days when I haven't checked for several days, I get the same lag as you are experiencing as my Touch is still accessing accounts and downloading more mail.

Hope that helps.

Same thing happens to me (in Lion). Would love a solution if anyone has one.

What generation ipod touch is it. If its old it could be the old internals. If you still have a warranty on your ipod touch see what apple says.
