Hello I just got my new laptop and I set up my mail accounts and its getting like 4000 mails since like 5 years and they're all unread... How can I either mark them as read on the os x mail app or put an option to just download new mail from now on or to limit the mail amount to 500 like you can on the iOS?:confused:

Cmd+A and then select "Mark as read" option should make them all as read. I have an ISP account that I use for some of my junk mailings and it is set up from the ISP to use POP (yes they still are using that but upgrading soon and I hope going with IMAP, they won't tell me what they are upgrading to just yet) and when configured on the wife's computer I have to go in there and do this trick to clean out the 800+ emails that have accumulated since the last time I did it.
