Hey guys, I was trying to migrate from Gmail to iCloud via Apple Mail on OS X. I was able to copy the sent and inbox folders without a problem. However, when I tried to copy over the archive I kept getting error messages "The IMAP command "APPEND" failed with server error: Message contains NUL characters."
I tried over and over but kept getting the error so I gave up. However, upon moving all my mail out of the trash (as I did temporarily during copying), the date ordering was all out of whack. I rectified this by trashing all the mail again and restoring them to the inbox in reverse chronological order.
Now, the mail appears in the correct order in CloudMail on iOS and Mail.app on OS X but it is still incorrect in Mail.app on iOS. However, the server doesn't seem to be processing my requests in a timely fashion because when I archive incoming mail through CloudMail, it animates as if archiving but the mail remains in the inbox upon refresh.
Tl;dr: I messed up date ordering of mails in Gmail and Gmail via CloudMail doesn't seem to update anymore. Is there anyway I can restore a Gmail to the condition it was in before I messed with anything? And if not, will moving to a different email provider rectify my issues?
