Mail.app help

Hello All,
I am having a problem with Mail app.
When I bring it up and then close it and quit it.
It come back up all by it self. You don't hav
to bring the app up again.

Do you mean:
You start Mail, then quit it with the appropriate command (Command + Q), it quits, but then it starts again?

How much times does go by between quitting and starting the application?
