Mail.app - leave messages on server?

Hi all

Can anyone tell me if there is a limit on how long incoming mail is stored on the server (for a standard .mac/MobileMe account)?

Using Entourage (which I was trying to move away from) my .mac/MobileMe mail remains on the server until I delete it manually (and then a copy still resides on my computer).

In Mail.app it seems to disappear at some point, so I no longer have old messages to refer to?
