Is there any way to use Locations or some other mechanism to automatically handle the case where I must use different SMTP servers based on which wireless network I am on?
- If I am at home, I can only use the Cox Cable SMTP from my Airport, because the cable internet service rejects attempts to access other SMTP servers.
- If I am at school, ditto except I must use a school SMTP server
- At my parents' home, ditto except they have BellSouth DSL and yet another SMTP server
Etc.
Right now, the first send fails, and pops up asking me to choose another server. After this, all sends succeed without intervention until the computer goes to sleep; after waking, I must go through this process again.
If this can't be done, is there another, better way to work around this? I don't mind having to quickly change an option, such as location, but I would prefer if it persists through a sleep cycle. Better yet, if the locations were also tied to the different wireless networks, so that it always automatically knows which SMTP to use.....
The problem with changing the setting in Mail.app is that it is a separate setting for each account, so I have to change several accounts.
Thanks!
