I just checked the size of ~/Library/Mail, and it's over 4 gigabytes. I use Gmail for 99% of my email, and in Gmail I'm only using 1181 MB. I think Mail is storing multiple instances of my email, but I'm not sure how to go about deleting the duplicates. I really don't like deleting email. What should I do?

I wish someone could chime in on this. I have 18 GB on my MBA with .Me and IMAP Gmail account.

It should be half according to each web sites storage indicator. Apple needs to give us some options like download on demand or stop creating multiple instances. With the new MB Airs this is critical.

It worked great. Thanks for saving me over 20 GB in space on my 11" air!
