Mail app not opening window

Not sure when this started.... OS and all apps up to date.

If I fire up Mac mail and then minimize, the next time I click on the mail icon from the dock, the mail window will NOT open. I have to go to the menu bar and select Window>inbox

Any ideas on a fix? Much appreciated.

Mine's not showing that behavior so it would seem something is amiss. Perhaps you should provide more detail on what's running and exactly how you're performing each action.
