mail app not syncing with gmail? please help

ive tried putting in the password etc again and i have tried other mail services and brings same error

its using google imap
but im getting the triangle with exclamation mark


any tips/ advice

Mines playing up. I can't send mail. Most probably a bug at googles end.

Or if you've turned on two factor authentication - you need to create an app password on google/gmail/account settings, put this password into mail.app on your mac. Then it will work.

If you already did this or don't need to see first sentence.
